Raingutter Regatta Inflatable Raceway. Heavy-duty vinyl raceway requires only two 6 ‘ tables for support. Place tables end-to-end, inflate the raceway, and use a garden hose or bucket to fill each racing lane with water. Each lane holds approximately 4 gallons of water.
The Rain Gutter Regatta is a laid back sailing equivalent to the Pinewood Derby. This is a great scouter project to make a boat from recycled materials and blow them down the our regatta track. The race will be laid-back and great way for everyone to have fun.

The Rain Gutter Regatta gives Cub Scouts a chance to make a model sail boat and race it with others. Traditionally, rain gutters were closed on each end and filled with water to serve as the race course. Today, options include plastic and inflatable courses.
3 – State the width and length of the track in the rules. My son made a boat that was too wide for the track, this year, since it was a new track (different size of raingutter). 4 – Offer prizes for best looking boats, not just the winners. Some boys put hours into their boats and should be recognized for it.
The official Raingutter Regatta Trimaran kit includes: Racing Trimaran Hull, two wooden outriggers, sail, mast, screws and sanding stick. Within the basic design rules, Scouts are free to paint and decorate their sailboats as they choose. The Pack provides the kit and a race is scheduled during one of the Pack Meetings.
